Music makes me feel good!

What does music do for me? If I am ever in a horrible mood, great mood, cooking, cleaning, entertaining, in bed reading a magazine, just hanging with the hubs at home or getting ready to go out – music always fits in one way or another and makes me feel a thousand times better. I don't think I could function without it, actually. And if you don't believe me, read this info about Music Therapy.

Lately, I have resurrected my love for Beyonce. And below are 2 songs of hers I cannot stop playing on my iPod.

#1 Love on Top – A definite throwback to New Edition song/video “If Isn’t Love” but still oh so good. watch ----> here

#2 Party – This song makes me want to get glammed up, call my girls and throw a really trashy shindig in a trailer park. You will know why when you watch the video ---> here. It’s a-maze.

#3 If It Isn't Love by NewEdition - I just love this song and you will definitely see how similar Beyones Love on Top video is to this one. watch -----> here

Enjoy my pretties!

Till Next Time xoxo

Sweetest DIY Ever.

DEFinitely going to make myself a "Love Map" for our Master Bedroom. Came across this adorable idea on Pinterest the other day through a fellow member : )

We Met - We Married - We Live

I will post pics once my map is complete! :D

Till next time! xoxo

Ryan Gosling #10?!?! - REALLY People?!

There are no words to describe the utter disappointment my heart is feeling right now. How could People Magazine completely overlook my soul mate…..I mean, one of my favourite actors Ryan Gosling as Sexiest Man Alive?! I am in shock. Bradley Cooper has taken the #1 spot.
I know, Ryan. I'm surprised too.
Love ya B. Coop but you ain't no RG.

Do NOT get me wrong – HUGE B. Coop fan over here but what about Gosling!! Those eyes, abs, smile, abs, and amazing style – how could it be so neglected? And it kills me even MORE to think Joel McHale & Justin Aniston Theroux BEAT out Ryan in the polls too? Despicable.

Wipe that smirk off your Face McHale.

Jennifer Anistons boyfriend made top ten this year? Um, fixed.

Anyway, I came across this sweet little article (63 Reasons Why Bradley Cooper Definitely Isn't The Sexiest Man Alive) on Facebook that was posted by a few friends (thanks Deb & Hayley) via BuzzFeed

All I can say is, I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Don't worry kiddo, we'll get em' next time.

Till next time xoxo

Movie Monday!

Review # 2 à 8/10

Drive with Ryan Gosling ……and a bunch of other actors that aren’t as important.

Plot: ‘Driver’ or ‘Kid’ (Gosling) is a Los Angeles wheelman for hire, stunt driving for movie productions by day and steering getaway vehicles for armed heists by night. Though a loner by nature, Driver can't help falling in love with his beautiful neighbour Irene, a vulnerable young mother dragged into a dangerous underworld by the return of her ex-convict husband Standard. After a heist intended to pay off Standard's protection money spins unpredictably out of control, Driver finds himself driving defense for the girl he loves, tailgated by a syndicate of deadly serious criminals. But when he realizes that the gangsters are after more than the bag of cash in his trunk - that they're coming straight for Irene and her son - Driver is forced to shift gears and go on offense.

Well, well, well. Hello Ryan Gosling…..I love you. I just needed to throw that out there before I get started.
Yes, I added the hearts for effect.

Why 8/10?

    Positives:

1)      AMAZING car chase scene – I was literally on the edge of my chair in utter suspense.
2)      Astounding cinematography. It was a truly visually appealing movie from start to finish. Everything was so dark and dreamy – you will know what I mean when you watch (or have watched) I can say, I haven’t seen much like it, if at all.
3)      The soundtrack was stellar. It coincided perfectly with each and every scene.
4)   It has a little of everything: Action, Suspense, Romance & Blood.
5)      Ryan Gosling in tight clothing. I loved his Satin Scorpion Jacket. Hot. He is SO badass in this movie.
6)      Ryan Gosling.
Tight, Satin Scorpion Jacket. Only Ryan can make this look good.
Negatives:

1)      Slow start to the movie, it doesn’t pick up for a while but once it got going it was well worth the watch.
2)      Ryans character had NO name. He was either called ‘Driver’ or ‘Kid’. It was annoying at times but you get used to it.
3)      The BIGGEST negative: Ryan Gosling kept his clothes ON the ENTIRE movie. No topless scenes like Crazy. Stupid. Love. For all you Gosling fans out there, you know how disappointing this is.
This is what Drive was missing.
A breakdown of 'The Gosling Abs'.

Overall, I would recommend this movie hands down. It is an action/ love story mixed into one so it’s definitely a great Date pick for sure. Oh, one more thing…. there isn’t a ton of dialogue either, but it gave Drive an almost haunting feel which I can completely appreciate. Ryan Gosling did such a fantastic job acting, you didn’t need to hear much. You knew exactly what was going on in his head every time.

Brilliant.

Swoon-Worthy Wednesday

I just hosted a Stella & Dot Trunk Show at my house this past Sunday and it was truly fabulous! Mimosas, cupcakes, and some of the loveliest ladies I know made this little soiree just brilliant.

Why can't my dining room table look like this all the time?!
It is no secret, that when you host a Stella and Dot trunk show, not only do you get to try on GORGEOUS jewellery, nosh on yummy treats and mingle with girlfriends… but as the Hostess you get (on average) $250 worth of FREE accessories and 4 half off items too! That's right, go ahead and re-read that line one more time - I said FREE accessories and HALF OFF. Now you tell me, is this a Win-Win? Absolutely.

After perusing the S&D website for HOURS (just like any other day) trying to choose between all the incredible pieces they have to offer, I chose the following Swoon -Worthy items that just tickled me pink!

*WARNING* You may notice a pattern: Gold! Gold! and More Gold! And a few charms... which I find completely and utterly irresistible. I love how creating a charm necklace (or bracelet) for that matter is so personal. iIt's not only a sweet reflection of who you are, but what your style is too.

Devi CZ Hoop Earrings in Gold - I love you.

Third Time's a Charm Necklace - Where have you been all my life?

On the Mark Necklace - So nice to meet you.

Marchesa Studs - You had me at Hello.

Created my own Gold personal Charm Necklace (obvi with a "J" & my birthstone) - Sweetness.

For more Stella and Dot selection check out their website @ http://www.stelladot.com/

I promise you will not be disappointed my friends.

Happy Shopping!

Till next time ~ xo

Movie Monday!

The Sunday ritual in our house (when me and the hubs are actually home to enjoy) is usually the following: Sleep in after a fun night out, eat a delicious breakfast in our pjs, take a nap because we’re tired from making that delicious breakfast, wake up contemplate about getting out of bed for about 20 minutes, finally get out of bed, watch PVR’D TV we need to catch up on, I sneak in a cuddle with my kittens (I will introduce my fur babies in another post – you will love them),do some light housework, discuss what’s for dinner, make that dinner, sip on a glass of wine during and after that dinner, and then comes my FAVOURITE part of the day: MOVIE TIME! On average we watch a minimum of 2 movies in a row, maybe 3 if we got an extra long nap in that day. It is seriously the highlight of my week.
I was trying to Google a "Movie Night" poster to insert in this post, and I came across this litle number and could not stop laughing.  Enjoy.

I am an avid movie watcher – it is my time to decompress and escape reality when life just gets a bit too busy and I want to pull my hair out.  I love to curl up on the couch, get cozy with my little fam, munch on some yummy popcorn and watch movie after movie. I don’t care if I’ve seen it 27 times, if it is 3 hours long, has subtitles, if the star of the film is Mariah Carey (Please watch Glitter if you haven’t already. It’s SO BAD it’s good) ....A few years ago, me and my friend Mike snuck into the theatre early to watch Bandslam prior to the 9pm Julie and Julia show. Which proves I will watch anything. Actually, Bandslam was pretty good, who I am kidding here? Sit me if front of any Teen movie and I’m golden.

Mariah at her finest and a perfect example of why Singers should NEVER act.
Yes, I snuck into a theatre to watch this masterpiece. Don't judge me.

I. Love. Movies.

I have an endless list of my all time faves and every Monday I will reveal a gem for you to watch OR give a review on a NEW movie I watched the night before – which ever comes first. Also, if any of YOU know of any films that are worth watching please send me some titles to add to my repertoire : )

I will start off Movie Monday with a Review.

I watched “Friends with Benefits” for the first time Starring Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake.

Plot: While trying to avoid the clichés of Hollywood romantic comedies, Dylan (JT) and Jamie (Kunis) soon discover however that adding the act of sex to their friendship does lead to complications.

My rating? 6/10.

JT: "Mila, I think this movie kinda sucks"
Mila: "I kow, but I'm sure no one will notice beause we're naked for 60% of the time"

Why a 6/10?

Reason #1 Justin Timberlake. He ruined it for me. Don’t get me wrong, HUGE JT fan over here. I went to his concert both nights when he came to Toronto for the “Justified/Striped” Tour back in 03’ with Aguilera. And yes, I wore a “ I Heart Justin” headband with the rest of them. But, his actual Speaking voice in this movie is AWFUL. Total David Beckham syndrome if you ask me. If you don’t know what that means, look it up.  And his acting ability...I just don't get WHY he doesn't put out another album and leave cinema behind!

Reason#2 Comedic Timing with Kunis was dreadful and they tried too hard to make this a “risqué” film with an abundance of awkward sex scenes, inappropriate jokes and bashing romantic comedies. Well guess what?! You’re in a romantic comedy. And, as a viewer, I want the tears, light chuckles, cheesy plot and the classic chase through the airport trying to get your true love to stay scene.  They tried their own spin on it and in my eyes it failed miserably.

Reason # 3 The Soundtrack. I HATE when bad movies try to create a cooler mystique by adding extremely popular songs at the moment to a soundtrack. Do these people think this movie will succeed just because it plays Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People at least 3 times? No. No, It doesn’t....even though I really do love that song. I want the ultra girly soundtrack damn it!! I didn't hear one Goo Goo Dolls or Sheryl Crow song.  *Side Note - Just incase you're interested: Top Ten Romantic Comedy Soundtracks

Reason#4 Back in January, about 6 months prior to when FWB debuted - a little movie with Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman came out called No Strings Attached. No Strings Attached vs Friends With Benefits

Anyway, this movie didn’t really keep me interested, I was just annoyed and wanted it to end. The only highlight for me was the Andy Samberg and Emma Stone cameo at the begining (why didn't they cast these two instead?!) but, I will say, there is eye candy for both males and females with JT & Kunis in the picture - which is where the 6 came from : )

Till next time xo

The Mother of all Collaborations....

It’s happening in less than 1 month!! A TITAN of the Fashion World has collided with a leading retailer and what do you get?!

VERSACE FOR H&M!!!!

I know, I know, Lagerfeld did it first followed by Comme des Garçons, Roberto Cavalli, Jimmy Choo and Lanvin but this is The House of VERSACE! Donatella’s line is gracing the racks of H&M on November 19th with a very brilliantly coloured collection that you would pretty much only see on hard core Italian mob wives in the movies….or on The Real Housewives of New York. It’s fabulous eye candy. The scarves, bags, signature Dedalo Versace pattern, the blinged-out detail, vivid colours – it’s all too much and over the top. God Bless those Italians. Would I personally wear any of the looks? I would absolutely wear a few that I’ve seen thus far & I will most likely definitely get my hands on some accessories, if they are priced well of course.

Watch out H&M, I'm coming for you.
Take a peak at some of the looks below and if you’re still not satisfied visit Fabsugar.com for a better sneak peak!

That pink suit is INSANE!

Gorge. I would wear this......if I looked like that.

Not shown with outfit: A husband named Vito.

What do you guys think? Yay or Nay to Versace @ H&M? My personal fave: The Hot Pink Mens Suit. For real.

SIDE NOTE: For those of you who are interested in Fashion History, like myself - take a quick read to get acquainted with Versace Gianni Versace - Fashion Designer

Till next ime ~ xo
